《論仁、論孝、論君子》
論仁_文言

1.子曰 : 不仁者 ,不可以久處約,不可以長處樂 。
仁者安仁,知者利仁 。
2. 子曰:
富與貴,是人之所欲也; 不以其道得之,不處也。
貧與賤,是人之所惡也; 不以其道得之,不去也。
君子去仁,惡乎成名?
君子無終食之間違仁,造次必於是,顛沛必於是。
3. 顏淵問仁。
子曰: 克己復禮為仁。一日克己復禮,天下歸仁焉。
為仁由己,而由人乎哉?
顏淵曰: 請問其目。
子曰: 非禮勿視,非禮勿聽,非禮勿言,非禮勿動。
顏淵曰: 回雖不敏,請事斯語矣。
4. 子曰: 志士仁人,無求生以害仁,有殺身以成仁。
論仁 _ 白話語譯
1.孔子說:不仁的人,不能久處於窮困,不能久處於安樂。
仁者安於仁道,智者因利行仁。
2.孔子說:
富裕和尊貴,是人所渴望的,不以正途得到它,不能接受。
貧窮和卑賤,是人所憎厭的,不以正當的方法得以拋掉它,
不能捨棄。
3.(若果)君子捨棄了仁德,怎樣能成君子之名
君子沒有一頓飯的時間(沒有短暫的時間)違反仁德,
倉卒勿忙時必定是(這樣),困頓挫折(也)必然是(這樣)。
3.顏淵向老師請教仁。
孔子說:抑制自己,使言語行動都合於(回歸)禮,就是仁德。
一天克制自己恢復禮法,世界就能回歸到仁(的境界)
實踐仁德,要憑自己,難道是憑別人嗎?
顏淵說:請問當中的綱目。
不合禮的事不看,不合禮的話不聽,
不合禮的話不說,不合禮的事不做。
我雖然不聰敏,請(讓我)實踐(你)這話。
4.孔子說:有志氣的人和有仁德的人,
不會為了求生而去傷害仁,有捨棄生命以達成仁。
論仁 On Benevolence _ 英語翻譯

1.Confucius said, "Those who are not benevolent cannot long endure hardship, nor can they long enjoy prosperity. The benevolent are at peace with benevolence; the wise find profit in it."
2.Confucius said, "Wealth and honor are what men desire; but if they are not obtained in the proper way, they should not be held. Poverty and low station are what men dislike; but if they are not avoided in the proper way, they should not be abandoned."
"If a gentleman abandons benevolence, how can he fulfill his reputation?
A gentleman does not violate benevolence even for the space of a single meal; he adheres to it in moments of haste and in times of danger."
3.Yan Yuan asked about benevolence. Confucius said, "To restrain oneself and return to ritual (Li) is benevolence.
If for one day a man can do this, all under Heaven will turn to benevolence. The practice of benevolence comes from oneself—does it come from others?"
an Yuan said: "May I ask for the specific guiding principles?"
Do not look at what is contrary to ritual, do not listen to what is contrary to ritual, do not speak what is contrary to ritual, and do not do what is contrary to ritual."
Although I am not clever, please let me put these words into practice."
4.A man of vision and benevolence will not seek to live at the expense of harming benevolence; he may even sacrifice his life to achieve it.
論孝 _ 文言

論孝_文言
1.孟懿子問孝。子曰:無違。 樊遲禦,子告之曰: 孟孫問孝於我,
我對曰,無違。
樊遲曰:何謂也? 子曰:生事之以禮 ; 死葬之以禮,祭之以禮。
2.子游問孝。
子曰:今之孝者,是謂能養;至於犬馬,皆能有養。不敬, 何以別乎!
3. 子曰: 事父母幾諫,見志不從,又敬不違,勞而不怨。
4.子曰: 父母之年,不可不知也。一則以喜,一則以懼。
論孝_白話語譯
1.孟懿子詢問孝道。孔子說:不要違背(禮法)
樊遲驅車,孔子告訴他,說:孟孫問我孝道。
我回答:『不要違背(禮法)。』
樊遲說:什麼意思呢?
孔子說:健在時依規定的禮節侍奉他們,
死了,依規定的禮節埋葬他們,祭祀他們。
2.子游詢問孝道。
孔子說:
現今的孝子, 是稱之為能夠供養(父母)
狗和馬,都能有被飼養;
不心存敬意,(那供養父母跟飼養犬馬)有甚麼分別呢?
3.孔子說:侍奉父母(如果他們有不對的地方)
要點到即止地指出,婉轉地勸止,
看到自己的意見沒有獲得接納,
仍然恭敬地不冒犯他們,雖然擔憂,但不抱怨。
4.孔子說:父母的年齡,不可不知道。
一方面因(其高壽)而歡喜,另一方面又因(其壽高)而憂懼。
論孝 On Filial Piety _ 英語翻譯

1.Meng Yizi asked about filial piety. Confucius said: "Do not disobey (the rules of propriety).
While Fan Chi was driving the carriage, Confucius told him, saying: "Mengsun asked me about filial piety. I replied: 'Do not disobey (the rules of propriety).'
Fan Chi said: "What does that mean?"
Confucius said: "When they are alive, serve them according to the prescribed rules of propriety; When they die, bury them according to the prescribed rules of propriety, and sacrifice to them according to the prescribed rules of propriety."
2.Zi You asked about filial piety.
Confucius said:"Nowadays, a filial son is merely considered as someone who is able to provide support (food and shelter) for his parents. Even dogs and horses are provided with food; Without respect, what is the difference (between supporting parents and feeding animals)?"
3.Confucius said: "In serving your parents (if they are at fault),
you should gently point it out and tactfully remonstrate with them.
If you see that your advice is not accepted, remain respectful and do not offend them; though you may be worried, do not complain."
4.Confucius said:
"The age of one's parents must not be forgotten (must be kept in mind).
On one hand, it is a cause for joy (due to their longevity), and on the other hand, it is a cause for anxiety (due to their advancing age).
論君子_文言

1.子曰: 君子不重則不威,學則不固;主忠信,無友不如己者,過則勿憚改。
2.子曰: 君子坦蕩蕩,小人長戚戚。
3.司馬牛問君子。
子曰:君子不憂不懼。曰 :不憂不懼,斯謂之君子矣乎 ?子曰 :內省不疚,夫何憂懼。
4.子曰: 君子成人之美,不成人之惡。小人反是。
5. 子曰:君子恥其言而過其行。
6子曰: 君子義以為質,禮以行之,孫以出之,信以成之。君子哉。
7. 子曰: 君子病無能焉 ,不病人之不己知也 。
8.子曰: 君子求諸己,小人求諸人。
論君子_白話語譯
1.孔子說:君子如果不莊重,就沒有威儀。
(即使讀書),所學也不會牢固,要以忠實和誠信為本,
不會跟不及自己的人交朋友,有了過錯,就不要害怕改正。
2.孔子說:君子心胸舒坦寬廣,小人卻經常局促憂愁
3.司馬牛詢問(有關)君子(的內容)。
孔子說:君子不憂愁,不恐懼。
說:不憂愁,不恐懼,這樣就稱作君子了嗎?
孔子說:自己問心無愧,還有甚麼需要憂愁和恐懼呢?
4.孔子說:君子成全別人的好事,不促成別人的壞事。
小人卻和這個相反。
5.孔子說:君子會因為自己說得多,但行為做得少而感到羞恥。
6.孔子說:君子以義為本質,依禮節實行它,
用謙遜的言語說出它,用誠實的態度完成它。這就是君子了!
7.孔子說:君子擔心(自己)沒有能力,不擔心別人不知道自己(的能力)
8.孔子說:君子責求之於自已,小人問責之於他人。
論君子On the Gentleman_英文翻譯

1.Confucius said, "If a gentleman lacks gravity, he will not command respect, and his learning will not be solid. Hold loyalty and trust as fundamental. Have no friends not as good as yourself. When you have faults, do not fear to abandon them.
2.Confucius said,
"The gentleman is easy of mind and broad; the petty man (Xiaoren) is always full of distress."
3.Sima Niu asked about the gentleman.
Confucius said, "The gentleman is free from grief and fear."
When asked if that alone makes a gentleman,
Confucius said: "When internal examination reveals no guilt (a clear conscience), what is there to grieve over or fear?"
4.Confucius said, "The gentleman helps others to achieve what is good; he does not help others to achieve what is evil. The petty man does the opposite."
5.Confucius said, "The gentleman is ashamed if his words exceed his actions."
6.Confucius said, "The gentleman takes Righteousness as his essence, practices it according to Ritual, expresses it with Humility, and completes it with Sincerity." This is what a gentleman is!
7.Confucius said,
"The gentleman is distressed by his own lack of ability; he is not distressed by others not knowing him."
8.Confucius said,
"The gentleman seeks the cause in himself; the petty man seeks it in others."
